As someone who exists, I have questions, doubts, and observations about the phenomenon of ‘existence’. These essential questions range from very simple to the most fundamental ones. My works give me the possibility to confront these questions. They are made by different layers of philosophy, poetry, literature, history, art and the culture. For instance, the philosophical aspects are mostly included by the antiquity philosophers such as Plato, the Islamic philosophers such as Al Ghazali, the continental philoso-phers such as Heidegger, and the semiotic philosophers such as Roland Barthes. And of course regarding to the historical aspects, the emergence and the deveopment of what we call “art”, its require-ments, forming and deforming play the most important roles.
Studying various materials and techniques is the key point attention of my process in creation of an art piece. The decisions may vary depending on the required content and the form in order to present the essence of the work. The creation process of each work is like a journey for me, which has a source and a destination and on the way any unexpected new thing can emerge.
All aforementioned aspects occurred selfconsciously or unconsciously through my experiences of emigrating from the East to the West. Despite all the existing paradoxes in two different cultures of the Islamic Iranian and the Christian European, I have tried to understand both of them, and of course they have formed the spectrum of my inter-ests long before than I recognized myself as an artist. There was no other way for me than to think about the whole things from the scratch, to see both of them at a distance and also to see myself even in the smallest details of both of them. In the end, all these backgrounds, Micro / Macro observations, and the experiences have illustrated themselves in various forms, content and/or techniques in my works.
