The repetition of the word “unreal” suggests reading the small sculptural installation as a playful examination of artistic parameters such as the original and the image, the concept of tautology, i.e. the repetition of what has already been said, or the shift of sensual qualities during the imaging process. A (peeled) banana cast in plaster and the photograph of the same but broken plaster banana are juxtaposed in the wooden box. The photographic paper is dimensioned in such a way that it also supports the intact plaster sculpture and thus refers to the transfer into another medium.
