Half a walnut cast in plaster is placed on each of the two scales of a historic balance scale. The two obviously identical pieces, however, have different weights, as one of them is protected by a glass dome. In addition to the broad socio-political question of values, an art-history discussion that goes back at least to Duchamp finds its ironic-symbolic expression here, since a signature, plinth, museum and art criticism can turn any object into a work of art.
